The Strategy Lab is EasyStockDater’s research engine — a rules-based backtesting environment that puts decades of daily market history to work and shows, bar by bar, how a disciplined system would have traded through every kind of market: bull runs, crashes, choppy ranges and recoveries.

Rather than a single fixed strategy, the Lab runs a deep library of rule-based systems across both market directions, scores each one on quality and consistency, and lets an adaptive layer lean toward what is actually working as conditions change. Every result is walk-forward — decisions are made only on information available at the time, with no hindsight — so what you see reflects how a system behaves in real sequence, not a curve fitted after the fact. The precise rules, ranking model and selection logic are proprietary.
